Coolidge revisited

Added a couple of Coolidge era pics and also one of the diagram of the Kennedy Vermeil Room in blue and the Ford Library. I still haven't identified the location of those mysterious ones, but these seemed interesting.

I've basically run out of sources that I know of, altho there are a couple of magazine pictorials that I don't have.

  1. Mmmmmmmm! The Library never looked better than it did as decorated by duPont and Jackie. It didn't "try too hard" to be academically correct - and it didn't look like a furniture store showroom (like it does today...)

Yes, I know that it was more "Colonial Revival" than anything else - and maybe it's just my generation showing - but I loved it that way. Casual Grandeur, I think thay called it.

  2. This is a bit off-topic but I, as a North Carolinian, am proud to report that this years WH Blue Room Christmas Tree comes from NC and I was reading that the First Lady will receive it Monday Nov. 26...I think this is the correct date. Keep an eye out for WH Christmas decoration programs in the near future! Last years were really good....

  3. Usually they show a blurb of the holiday decorations on CSPAN and HGTV does an hour long special in December. I really like them too.

  4. What "mystery ones" is Derek referring to?
