The photo was sent to me by a visitor. It was just described as "lots of construction". It's shot from under the canopy of the ground floor entrance, looking south.
Are you sure that is the West Wing? I know for a fact that they are rebuilding the tourist security entrance on the east side across from the Treasury. They have erected a corrigated steel wall around the construction and are using a temporary facility for tourists.
I believe that's part of the new media area. What's your source?
ReplyDeleteActually no, that's down near the cabana off the edge of the wall near the Sit Room Watch Center correct?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at pg 131 of Collection 2 seeing what it might be. . . .

ReplyDeleteWell I don't know what it is, but esthetically I'm not crazy about a taller structure bing butted up against the end of that wall.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's a new entrance to the Sit Room?

ReplyDeleteThe source placed it on West Executive Drive, by the pool.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fascinating move. I'm very interested to know why they'd build this thing. Maybe it's for cannonballs into the pool?
