Architectural Digest

I still haven't had a chance to pick up the new Architectural Digest with pics of the Bush redecoration. I've looked for it locally, but couldn't find it. I didn't want to go all the way to Barnes & Noble or Borders because I knew I'd be passing thru O'Hare airport Monday and it would certainly be there. Cue the severe weather flight delays.... and I had to rush to catch my connection.

This week I'm in Sacramento. Surely these people are civilized. The weather certainly is.

  1. Sending you good vibes for O'Hare. I've been through there maybe 100 times, and have never had an on-time flight regardless of the weather. Worst airport in the US.

  2. Don't say this. My wife and I are traveling to Prague in March and we "connect" through O'Hare. We go from Savannah to O'Hare, to Frankfurt, and onto Prague. Then there's the reverse of that on the way home.

  3. Logan - you must be living right to be in Georgia and NOT have to go through Atlanta Airport (The Abyss) to get somewhere! That sounds like a fabulous trip!

  4. John,

Actually this is the second trip to Prague (in 2 years) that we have not had to go through Atlanta. Last time we connected Savannah to Dulles to Vienna to Prague. Also, I posted this on WH Fanatics, the Architectural Digest website has the March issue posted complete with 21 pictures of the White House. Check out www.architecturaldigest.com.

  5. Hartsfield is a piece of cake compared to O'Hare, Rebel. I don't mind it at all!
Anyway, I'd love to know your interest in Prague since this is your second trip, Loganberger.
    Just nosy.

  6. I'm going to be traveling to Atlanta in April. Any tips on how to survive their airport?

  7. I always seem to be coming from Eastern Time when I fly into O'Hare - and invariably forget that Chicago is in Central Time (I guess I don't listen to the flight attendant's "Welcome to Chicago, the time is now ___ Central Time..." blurb as we taxi in to the terminal...). So there I am running along the moving sidewalk and it suddely dawns on me that instead of 20 minutes to make my commecting flight, that I actually have an *hour* and 20 minutes... Duh...

Wingnut - all you really need to survive the Atlanta Airport is a skateboard and special glasses so the hidious blandness of the concourses won't destroy your eyes.

Oh, for the days when we could travel with steamer trunks and an entourage...

  8. Becky,
My wife and I are going to Prague with our church on a mission/ministry trip. We are actually going to provide a week long retreat for the missionaries (Southern Baptist)in Eastern Europe. My wife, Miriam, is a pianst so she will be part of the team that provides the music. My job is to "record" the trip with cameras--hey somebody's got to do it. This trip there is a total of 20 people going. This is the same thing we did when we went 2 years ago.

  9. Wingnut,
At Hartsfield, just take the underground train to your next gate. Don't try to walk there if it's very far. Although it's a huge (and busy) airport, I find it easy to navigate and there are some good places to eat if you have enough time.
    Loganberger -
That sounds like a great trip! Maybe you'll share some of your pics and experiences when you return. (hint)

  12. Should we really be letting *Canadians* see where our president lives? I mean do we *really* know what they're up to, up there? Do we?

    : )

  13. Well since Canadians seem to rule the music charts John it's only a matter of time before we rule the White House as well. . . .

    . . :D

  14. For some reason, a song sung by a bunch of kids in South Park, Colorado comes to mind......
