Times Online is reporting that President of France Nicolas Sarkozy has secretly married supermodel Carla Bruni in the Elysee last week. It's hard to imagine such a thing happening in the White House (except maybe back in the days of President Hefner), but then there is a little church just across the park from the White House, where such things could be taken care of discreetly. One imagines the Elysee is surrounded by cheese shops and topless beaches.

Being french (and by the way a very regular wiever of this great website) i must say that we are totaly ashamed by our pseudo president's behaviour.Hard to imagine the "happy couple" in Windsor for a upcoming state visit in march.

Is the chapel where the ceremony was held? I think St John's being across the street is the main reason there's no chapel in the WH, Nixon's preferences notwithstanding.

ReplyDeleteIn fact the chapel is very tiny.Knowing our dear president bling bling's taste, the very large Elysée's "salle des fetes"( the french equivalent of your "East room") is far more appropriate for him.
